Privacy Policy

Here, we explain our privacy policies in clear language to declare what information is held and what is not. A general rule of thumb for collecting and storing information is to keep only the minimum that is truly needed.

Your account and signing in

To access the courses, an account is created with your name and email address. You can sign in with a password, with a one-time link sent to your email, or with your Google account. When you sign in with Google, we receive only the name and email address of your Google account, and we never have access to your Google password. For security, sign-in activity (including time and IP address) is kept for about 30 days.

Sign-up for the site and newsletter

We try to request the least personal information needed. For registration on the site and the newsletter, this is limited to your full name and email address. This information is stored in this website’s own email system, and emails are sent through an email delivery service.

We send newsletters and marketing emails only with your consent. Every email identifies us and includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw your consent at any time; the newsletter will then stop, and your information will be deleted on request.

Course and consulting information

Depending on the content of the courses and their associated consulting and mentoring services, your personal or career information may be requested and recorded on the site. All of this is kept to a minimum, and if more information is needed, we try to ask for it during oral sessions rather than record it. Everything recorded is with your permission and consent and in line with educational and counselling requirements.

The resume, job posting, and documents you upload for a consulting session are used only to deliver that service and are not shared with others.

Booking consulting sessions

To book a consulting session, we receive your name, email address, chosen time, and any notes you choose to enter. Sessions are scheduled in our calendar, and online sessions are held through LiveWebinar.

Use of AI tools

To help evaluate and edit client documents, such as resumes and LinkedIn profiles, we may use AI tools. Your documents are given to these tools only to deliver that service and only as needed, and the consultant reviews and remains responsible for the final result. If you do not want your documents reviewed with an AI tool, tell us before the service begins.

Session recording

Mock interview sessions are recorded to analyze your answers, and you will be told before recording starts. Other sessions are not recorded without your notice and explicit consent. Recordings are not shared with others.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your information. Your account and service information is shared only as needed with providers that help us run the services, such as website hosting, email delivery, payments, calendar and online meetings, Google sign-in, and AI tools. Website visit data is also shared with Google and Meta through analytics and advertising tools (see Cookies). Some of these providers may process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from Canada’s.

Cookies

Some cookies are essential for the site to work, such as signing in and checkout. We also use Google Analytics to measure visits and traffic, and the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) for advertising measurement and marketing. These tools send information such as the pages you visit, your device type, and your IP address to Google and Meta. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site, such as signing in, may then not work properly.

Payments and financial information

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly on Stripe’s secure payment form and are not received, recorded, or stored on this site. We only see order details such as the product name, amount, and payment status.

How long we keep information

We keep your information only as long as it is needed to provide the services you use, to meet legal and accounting requirements, and to resolve disputes. After that, it is deleted or anonymized. Payment and tax records may be kept longer, as required by Canadian law. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights and contacting us

At any time you can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to marketing emails. Email us at info@reallifeincanada.ca.
